Ah right that explains it. I forgot you were more into cylinder shells. Are the ball shells from Gamon 10mm fuse too?

Yes unless you get the Espoleta version which has a carboard tube inserted already so you can ram spoolettes. As said 1/4" fuse works fine with these shells, have made loads using 1/4" with no problems. The 10mm makes it much easier. Also ensure the seal is very good or you will end up with a nice mine not a shell. The 10mm is a very tight fit into the shells so you dont need glue or anything to seal it.

I have some tests for beraq to conduct in some 4" gamon shells soon, will post when have done the test.

Just fire some 3.5" shells and was a bit dissapointed with both the stars and diferences in the bursts.

stars either shattered or fired blind Im erring towards the first.

the 3 shells were tests for burst boosters and I cant see or hear a decernable diference.

Have a look here:

So, it´s a mobile phone video. There´s not very much to get out of it. First: Its dark. Anyway, the first break looks denser and brighter.
The burst seemed to be equal for each of the shells. Correct me if I´m wrong here.

Help us analyzing it: MORE information about liftcharge, burstcharge and type of bc please!

You need to get hold of a DV Camera, will enable us to help more. The shells looked good from the video, all breaks look similar but the first looks slightly better.

Made a quick 3" Cylindrical shell with Win 20 glitter. It uses the Gamon plastic case and has 10mm Portugese time fuse. Have a look :D

Trying to do something very beautiful but very dangerous very safely....

Cheers!! Those were left over 1/2" glitter stars, they are made extra hard with gum arabic. This gives them extra strength so you have the option of a very hard break using flash as a booster. I have to pump more of these to make some more items.

Karl, amazing work as always with the 6" shell... wish I had been somewhere nearby to see it in 3D!

It looks like your favourite Win 20 would make really good glitter pistils for the 4" Peonys I'm constructing for Easter. I'm looking at 12mm pumped, using 200-mesh MgAl... Does the Win 20 need step priming, or can you just dust it with BP/Greenmix as with D1 glitter?

Well you wont need any prime if they are pumped, if your rolling I would give them a dusting of meal to help the surface take fire. I tend not to prime glitters as they dont seem to need it. Test one in a star gun with and see if it lights. One place I want to try them is inside a inner petal on a 6" outer being purple. I have also have a mine with them in, a 4" glitter with flash reports. The flash reports are made from Gamon 20mm Bombette units and timed for 2 seconds. I made one a while ago and it was simply stunning. They make an ideal finale when used in a row of 8 or so fired at once. Noisy though but very pretty!

Great stuff! Loved the 4" Beraq can, I am also making another 4" beraq can shell as we speak. The delays look good on yours, very close.Got any pictures of your beraq shells constructions?? What delay method did you use?

Loved the rest of the pyro too, those colour shells made me drool!

DAMN! I LOVE those shells. They go up so straight and high, easily traceable with the nice rising tails.

Especially the Multicolor and streamer to multicolor shells are sweeeeet!

Keep posting such sweet videos!

Thanks Karl and Paul.

I loved the beraq alot myself. I read all your tuts and looked at all your pics before making the shell. I was testing and testing with your method of fusing. I never did get it exactly how I wanted it though, so I just used visco fuse. It was regular chinese, I primed it after cutting carefully and setting the fuse just as careful. It worked well except for one rogue beraq :) Perhaps after more work the next ones will have timing liek yours.

I usually document all my shell building, excpet this time I didn't because the last few times noone wanted to see and pics/video. Oh well, I will make more and I will document them next time.

Those beraq look very nice, high quality. I bet it shows in thier performance as well.

Al,

If you need any more tips just drop me a PM, what was the problem with your old beraq? Not igniting and making it through the delay hole? I now have a very good mixture that works 100% and is quick. Loved your other shells was well, I always like seeing your pics and vids of pyro! Keep them coming, you are making some amazing stuff!
