Hey I'm on passfire but it doesn't actually tell you the process of making the stars. Am I right in thinking that for blonde streamer, you mill the kno3, sulphur, charc and then later seive in the fe/ti and then finally sprinkle on the dextrin, mix and then dampen?

He(she) listens: In passfire they explain perfectly how to do stars.

To make "charcoal streamer" you need to put inside the ball mill, the following thing: KNO3, charcoal, sulfur and dextrin. All: two / three hours run !

NEVER SIEVE / MIX FE-TI TOGETHER THIS INGREDIENTS.
Always mix the Fe-Ti or metallic dust by hand.

Insist: never ball bill metallic dust together BP

To moisten (compositions with dextrin) the proportion uses 70:30. Water-alcohol.

Hi just got back from shugsbrough and here saw a jaw dropping effect here it is What is it?..I can post several more clips each display had at least one of theses effects..Kimbolton had the best ones but in all the excitment i forgot to press record ....

..Its not a willow effect Kimbolton fired afew willow shells and this to me is far superoir..It just hangs in the air for ages like glittery effect ?? also in the clip is a 3 large Mines that shoots out what appears to me as the same effect as the shells in the background?...Please tell me what this formula is? it looks as if its the same formula that castillareno is looking for....

I believe the ?what is it? effect is called Majestic Arching Transformation or MAT for short.

Already you have achieved the soft hanging effect for that you look, sasman?

Exactly before the Truck scene, its the same formula that castillareno is looking months ago...

Question: you have tried "Majestic Arching Transformation" of Pyro-pal ?

It looks effect kamuro: this soft golden-silver scintillate composition.

Hanging as fine threads from the sky... to ground. Really beautiful !

Guys, I think you're talking about the same thing as in my thread "really lllloooonnnnggg hang glitter", and I don't think it's the MAT formulation - I've made that (albeit in comets) and although very nice it wasn't quite the same thing - smaller number of bigger flashes. The only thing I've come across (and in description only) is the "Nishiki Botan" mentioned in Shimizu, but it uses realgar which I can't get hold of (and don't want to die of arsenic poisoning anyway )

Yup, it's definitely not MAT.
I was guessing the "what is it" formula might be MAT, but after testing, found it only made a coarse/sparse twinkling effect similar to you're description. I think the binder interferes with the combustion of this type of star and prevents what should be a more drawn out effect.

MAT is basically "Firefly" with a bit of added Ti to add sparkle in the first effect. Both are characterised by a first effect (willow or brocade) with some silver flashes appearing a while behind the star. The binder is desperately important with both it seems, I found wheat paste to be better than dextrin.
