But you should look at it from a differnt perspective.
Say you order for 50 dollars, here's a example:
2'' shell 3 x 50 sets = 19.80$
3'' shell 2 x 38 sets = 15.20$
4'' shell 2 x 20 sets = 18.90$
Subtotal: 53.90$
shipping 50$
Total: 103.90$ = 58 pounds
3 x 50+2 x 38+2 x 20 = 304 shells
58/304= 0,20 pounds a shell, I think you can't get them anywhere cheaper.

But you do get a lot for 100$.
I Think i'll stick to 2" shells.
I got a test on sunday.
I'm testing x-mas bulb mortar version.
And we'll se how it goes.

Baubles can be made of many different materials.?? It only takes a 10 second search to see this.
Oh, Baubles
Yes, i would imagine they would make great shell hemis, and more redily available too.
Would save costs in the long run, such as shipping etc.

I found perfect plastic 5 cm hemis for .10 p a piece.
They sell them fo home made xmas tree bulbs or baubles....what ever
It's funny how an art store sells stuff which is going to be blown apart in a couple of days time

I still think I prefer working w/ the plastic hemi's you can buy from suppliers better! There already in two interlocking parts and have timefuse hole.
Best price's I've found w/ shipping is at http://www.discountpyro.com/
2.5 .28 each
3" .33 each killer price.
As far as I can tell the christmas bulbs are abs plastic
and the plastic hemis are polystyrene which is also a little thicker on the hemis compared to bulbs, which in a un modified shell will break betterexample.. "no pasting string etc..."
I'll try to post some video this week, comparason of each w/ same burst and stars.

I love it! I can buy a pack of smokes which will hurt me for sure! Yet theres a 1000 laws in place to protect me from myself . I guess its ok to harm your self if its slow and will help the economy.

I save all my paperbags from the food store and grab some xtra's too.
Ive been rolling some 3" cylinders about 3mm thick ,then I saturate the outside w/ epoxy or wood hardner "from minwax company" and man do they make some loud salutes and awsome deep thunderous breaks w/ stars.
I have to go grab a usb cord so I can start to upload footage to share. Have lots!!

anyone tried the plastic balls used in kids playpens?
I bought 100 of them on ebay for about ?5. They're 2.73" diameter and weigh in at 10.75 grams.
Only downside is, you need to cut them in half first and then paper wrap them but I don't think thats a problem as they're very thin walled and need reinforcement, anyway. Paper wrap would bring them perfectly up to 3".
I just searched for plastic balls, on ebay. They turn up every so often and sometimes in large quantities.
