Hi,there. I write from Madrid (SPAIN).
I use web-translator. Sorry. :blush:

I want to make the whistle mix:
Perchlorate-Benzoate 70/30.
Is well-read the book of Takeo Shimizu "FIREWORKS", page 232. part 15.4 Whistles.

But then I have my doubts and worry(restlessness) when I go to press this composition, inside the cardboard pipe, with home-hydraulic-press, without gauge...

Questions, please: How I can determine the pressure that I send to the whistle mix, with my hydraulic press 10 Tm ?

I have read that never RAMMER this composition perchlorate-benzoate. Only press.

But... HOW ??? :o

I can to press WET(humid) this composition without not to run risks, and after to dry the loaded cardboard, some days?

I wish any idea, pyro friends of the FORUM. B)

Y como oso lo dir?a;
Vuelve verde!
*not bad spanish, for not having it this semester

My whistles didn't whistle at first, problem being they weren't pressed hard enough. Also, a recess is needed in the end of the tube for the sound to resonate, 1-2 id of your chosen tube should be enough.

I had a whistle problem But now I am whistled up, a man in his season. My NaSy had gone mouldy.

My mix is 70/30, no oil, no catalyst. I wet it with Soberano and granulate it with a still brush.No mess, no fuss. A hydraulic press is over kill. I use a 2 ton arbour press fitted with a solid 11mm drift.and squash 3 grams with about 1500Kg. You can ram them, just don't hold the tube with your hand. This evening a pressed 3 g KP/NaSy into a till roll inner and added 1g hot flash on top.Screeech--BANG very Spanish. Steve Valencia.
