Missing topic?

The topic was titled: Are you using fluorine as an oxidizer?
The last post was by: Mike Swisher
And the ID was: 1252
It?s most unfortunate his comments have been deleted as I have much to add to this thread. In any event, if it was deleted I would like to know why so I don?t make the same mistake over.

Could have something to do with the server move, perhaps they took a snapshot before you started that thread. I saw it too, I was going to post a teflon/magnesium flare composition until I thought better of it.
The topics desappeared not because of server upgrade but because of moderation reasons. In some cases - this has to do with requestes from certain resources (such as another member or a course runner\shop owner etc which does not want his name mentioned on the forum) and the other is when a moderator thinks that a certain topic should not be on the forum, but does not have the strangth to go over the reasons again and again (for example - starting duplicate subjects or dengroues subjects that do not use HE is not going to increase your warn level - but makes the forum very untidy and less respectful)
If you are in doubt - and want to start the thread again - mail a moderator your post - and ask for his opinion:

I'm not sure who to email regarding this issue. My concern is not for the missing topic, but guidance as to the nature of its removal. With out that I?ll have no way preventing myself from making the mistake over. The topics desappeared not because of server upgrade but because of moderation reasons. Boring stuff:
Unless it was deleted due to someone else?s post the topic didn?t contain any mention of HE, certainly no ones formulas.. Perhaps it was deemed to be dangerous; I don?t know I?m unclear. BigG, though you post was not directly directed to me, perhaps we can take this offline and discuss it in private, my email address is available through the forum.

The reply in question was about how the volume inside a round shell increases with diameter - I'm sure nothing in it would give any moderators cause to remove it.
I'm not that bothered that it disappeared - it wasn't really very interesting or addressed to anyone in particular, but since three relatively innocuous discussions have disappeared it seems unlikely that they were deliberately deleted by a moderator.
BigG, if you know for a fact that the fluorine topic and KingVinny's reply were deleted, then that explains where they went, but I'd be surprised if my reply was deleted. If you were just speculating, then it seems likely that it is something to do with the server move, or some other technical problem.
PS - did anyone else see my or KingVinny's replies? I saw the fluorine topic, by the way.

I think I may have had a reply to the "Spherical Shells" thread disappear too. I'm pretty sure that I did post it - I think I remember seeing the reply in the topic. However, it's not there now and If I search for posts by myself it isn't shown.

Ah, I can see members coming out from all around with those disappearing subjects .
Phonix - I do not recall seeing your mentioned post, but I will be surprised if such a post would be deleted.
cat and kingvinny - you can contact me by PM (Not by email - I generally would not answer email items unless it's emeregency)
Deleted messages are probebly gone forever - unless the all powerfull leader (RichardH) has way of undeleting them - but assuming that there was a good reason for deleting them - then they are not likely to be undeleted.
P.S. - You do got a good point there - and I'll get working on a posting guidelines document right away. There are a few things we planned on doing that were put on hold due to the amount of staff we have to go through to register the BPS and get our next article published.
I know - it's not an excuse - but we try to prioritize.
