I would never touch it with a 1000ft barge pole, all the chemicals you need for pyrotechnics can be obtained in this country and at good prices. People like chemikus are making alot of money from desperate people that dont want to search for chemicals, also they make our hobby dangerous by selling something it ain't!!! Stick to REAL lab companies.

I can get allmost all my chemicals plus some paper products and alike from
www.svenskakemi.nu (klick the UK flag).

He will deliver to allmost all EU countries, and not in a to distant future the page will be in english, plus that the prices will drop. If even more people buy, the prices will drop even further. His products are really good quallity and he has delivered every thing I have ordered without any problems.
To complete the chemical www.skylighter.com has some chemicals they will ship that svenksakemi.nu doesn't sell.

For those on the U.S. side of the pond, is there any place to order bulk Potassium Nitrate (specifically, from a garden shop)?

I made an order with my supplier last Friday, I'm unsure about the forum rules regarding suppliers, so I'll just say their name begins with a T and ends with an R. On tuesday they phoned me up, and asked me for the security code on my credit card (no problems there), then they asked me to fax them a brief letter, with a short description of what I wanted the chemicals for. They had never asked me before, I had made 2 orders with them over the past 2 years.

After doing a bit of searching through past threads, I decided I should just be honest and tell them what I really was going to use them for, it was blatantly obvious anyway.

It's now Friday again, and I havent heard from them since Tuesday. What does everyone think?

I bought some pottasium nitrate from *CENSORED*, but when it arrived and I read the packet I found this information:

It contains 13% Nitrogen and an unspecified (presumably 87%) amount of K2O.

My knowledge of chemistry makes me think that this is not pottasium nitrate, and will be a very weak oxidiser. Is there still hope, or do I need to find an alternative source of KNO3?

The details on the label are misleading. I can assure you there is nothing at all wrong with their KNO3!

K2O isn't really in your fertilyser, it's just for farmers and such to know whats in it.
In the NPK numberthe N is for nitrogen but the P is for P2O5 and the K is for K2O.

Your fertyliser is KNO3, calculate the purity your self.

Ahh, so it's just an indication of what a plant can be expected to take in when this fertiliser is used? Should be fine then, I wasn't planning on growing tomatos anyway.

Chaz: I would'nt worry about the time it takes, they have to process orders and look at each one carefully. I order from Labpak and it always takes 1-2 weeks. I think i know the company yours is from, i would not worry....you will get it. And yes being honest is good.
