I'm no expert at chemistry, but that ain't KNO3. don't know what it is, but someone else will probably tell you.

If you look closer on the bag sometimes it will say Nitrogen derived from...... It will either be nitrate, or amine/ammmonia/urea/something like that. Usually it will tell you the actual componenets.

Urea doesn't have any pyro uses. It melts and decomposes around 130 or 140C. This is far too low for pyro uses. If you wanted to be a b*st*rd, one could put it in a smoke device where it would give off ammonia in the smoke. Actually, I have seen Nitrourea used in some older formulations, similar to how nitroguanididne or guanidine nitrate are used. Guanidine and urea are extremely similar.

Hi,

Just a quick message for anyone still having trouble getting chlorine donors in the UK.

Saran (PVDC) available at http://www.thegreenman.me.uk/ ?7.48 for 200g
PVC available at http://www.hobbychem.co.uk ?5.40 for 250g
Parlon available at http://www.inoxia.co.uk 2.30 for 100g

Hope nobody objects to me posting these here as all three suppliers are Pyro/hobby based, and these chemicals (on their own) are not particularly dangerous.

Best Wishes,
Simon.

Yes, ?9 per kg includes VAT.

Delivery is (by royal mail standard parcels)-

1kg ?3.85
1.5kg ?4.95
2kg ?5.31
4kg ?7.70
6kg ?8.74
8kg ?9.97
10kg ?10.70
20kg ?12.46

Other services (1st class, recorded delivery etc) could be arranged. You would need to send your own containers to be filled with red gum. Nothing is finalised as yet. PM me.

A personal advertisement like this might not belong here, but I'd like to know if anyone is interested to purchase Potassium Perchlorate. I will be getting a delivery soon and since there is a litle extra, I could consider getting rid of it. The price is about 17? kg + plus shipping. PM me for details.

Some disappointing news,

Placed an order with one of our favourite suppliers (Name begins in T) who I have used several times before and got the following response today:

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately, we have recently introduced a new company policy whereby we are unable to supply chemicals to private individuals. We realise that we may have supplied you in the past, however, due to new national regulations recently enforced this is no longer a possibility.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Finally, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further queries, our should you wish to make an equipment purchase."

Bit of a bummer as they had a great catalogue of stuff :-(

Anybody else had a similar experience and what "National Regulations" are they talking about??????

Simon.

Come on, give us some more clues about the name, we only a "T" to go on!! maybe the first three letters perhaps.

Also where in the world are you?

I know of no recent leglislation in the UK that prevents the sale of anything to the public!

Hi Andrew,

I'm in the UK and the company was Tim* Laboratory Suppliers (Based in Crewe)
I have used them for lots of stuff in the past and never ordered anything dodgy either.

Maybe I am on some kind of blacklist :o :o :o

Regards,
Si.
