Hey all,

This is my first post on this forum, but I would like to share my experience with Keten.
I have ordered for the third time from him now. The first two parcels I have recieved relatively on time. So far so good I thought. Three months ago I ordered some more chemicals from him, the communication was good before I sent the money. Also when I sent him the money I got a confirmation from him that he had recieved it. After this he replied the parcel would be sent on monday the following week. I waited till wednesday before asking him what's going on. After some time I got a reply that he was moving his lab and has to clean up. I can imagine he needs time for that. But not three months. So far I've sent him 2 or 3 more e-mails asking when he will sent my chems. No answer yet. I've tried to call the number on his site, no response. And the most frustrating thing is that his site is being updated ! What the hell. I can imagine that someone can have some problem with things, but at least he can sent me an e-mail telling me what's going on. It's not that he has no computer, because his site is being updated.

I'll keep you guys updated if anything changes.

Sorry to hear about your missfortune. I had a very similar experience with Keten one year ago. When I finally threatened him with a lawsuit, he replied with some poor excuses, but I finally got my chems. It's sad that an otherwise very potential supplier for us european pyros falls down on these kinds of things. The prices are great as is the selection, but this kind disrespect for customers is very bad for the reputation. He will be out of customers very soon.

Thanks for the info, as a matter of fact I was going to place an order with him today but may reconsider now.
When the chems arrived were they all correctly labled etc.

At least my chems were. As a matter of fact, he sent he the wrong type of Al. I ordered spherical 325 mesh but received flake Al. Afterwards he sent me the correct Al with no special charge, which I think was pretty decent.

True, thats more than some suppliers would do, I'd imagine. Especially considering the shipping costs!
Overall, do you reccomend him as a supplier though? His range of chemicals by far exceeds that of any other supplier I know...

If he would communicate with his clients better, he would be one of the best suppliers in my opinion. His prices are quite low. The downside is that he doesn't respond to your e-mails at some moments. It's a bit strange that at first he can reply to your e-mail in a day or two, but after you paid you will get almost no answer. Though his site is being updated with a lovely santa hat and some new chems. :/

No problem! I think that I'll order from him him today, my order is around the £80 mark so about the same as yours. So far he has responded within the day to all my e-mails...! Thanks for all the replies everyone!

I wonder if he'll be so fast with replying to your mails after you paid.. You could try to order from him. Maybe it will work out great, but maybe it will be the same situation like I am in now.

If nothing helps I might pay him a visit one day as I have family in Poland and go there about once a year. Though Wroclaw isn't on the route, I could make a little de-tour.

well i put in another order in before christmas and got the usual no replies after i paid, i phoned the guy up (his English is pretty good) and he appologised for the delay and i recieved 2 emails from him on the 21st and 23rd dec with photos of the parcel and tracking info

i think the trick is to just keep phoning this guy till he sends it

Any idea what size rocket tools are on Ketens site? They are being sold for 120 Zloty (around £20) but without knowing what size, not a lot of use... If he sold star pumps I would definately place an order

Hi.

I have posted info about keten before. The first package i ordered took 3 months to arrive - I was told he had injured his hand in an 'unfortunate rocket accident' and coudn't send them because he was in hospital.

Eventualy, the chems arrived, about £120 worth. Poorly packaged, and some of the oxidisers had split out of thier drums and were sloshing around the fuels!!

Still, benifit of the doubt and all that, I placed another order, he does encourage larger orders to keep postage down so I thought I would stock up on a lot of things.

£290, 4 months later, another hospital storey (this time a stomach infection or somthing) and still no chems. But what was realy annoying was that the website was getting updated still.

A few 'harsh' emails later and he apparently sent them.

Another month, no chems. He told me they had been 'stopped on the borders' - HM customs I suppose. He told me he would send again.

But still no chems, no explanation, no emails - you get the picture.

Last comunication was 4 months ago, ive heard nothing since.

I think it can be risky buying from this guy. Basicaly, if your package is inspected at any point, its probably gonna be detained and destroyed and its your loss, thats if it even ever got sent.

Still, I dont forget these things, and I travel around Europe quite a lot. You never know, next time im in Poland, I might pop round for a cuppa and we can have a nice chat!!!

That's really poor customer service.
I recieved an e-mail earlier today saying that the total for my order is £85, which for what I'm ordering actually isn't that bad... My only concern being that I may not actually recieve my chemicals! Does anyone know weather he ships fuse legaly or not?

My chemicals arrived today and ive got to say in perfect condition. i made a few test comps up and seems to be pretty hi grade stuff.

he does ship fuse to the uk but separatly to the chemicals not sure of how legal it is though
