Any one know where to buy Sodium salicylate, cant find it on google UK, Thanks
As far as I can figure, benzoates are available because of thier widespread use as a food preservative. Sodium Salicylate is only used as a precursor chemical in pharmaceutical industry ( i.e. multi ton lots ), pyro is the only small quantity use I have heard of.
It is exportable from the U.S., so you could order it up from Skylighter or Firefox, etc.

Not finely milled but makes good whistles when you mill it down.

Thanks I was unaware that firefox could ship to the UK. I've just made a large order.
Me too, every time I've asked them I've got the same 'Sorry, we can't...'.
Do they really ship to the U.K.?!
Regards,
Mike

AT PRESENT, MOST ORDERS CAN BE SENT TO YOU BY U.S. MAIL WITH A CUSTOMS FORM ATTACHED.
PLEASE BE SURE MATERIALS ARE LEGAL IN YOUR AREA.
PLEASE NOTE THAT EXPLOSIVES (1.4 MATERIALS) AND ANY OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CANNOT BE SHIPPED TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES
PLEASE CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION. 1 (208) 237-1976 VOICE OR FAX"
They should be able to ship anything that isn't classed as Hazardous... Even hazardous items can be shipped internationally, but it costs a small fortune. Whether or not they can be bothered with the extra hassle is another question altogether : )

That's just the thing though, all they said they could ship was paper/plastic products and no chemicals.
Treefingers, if you don't mind me asking, what did you buy?

Mike

well i put in another order in before christmas and got the usual no replies after i paid, i phoned the guy up (his English is pretty good) and he appologised for the delay and i recieved 2 emails from him on the 21st and 23rd dec with photos of the parcel and tracking info
i think the trick is to just keep phoning this guy till he sends it
I dont suppose anyone has his phone number. I cant find it on his website.
I am fed-up with being ignored by this guy and his site is still being updated, so he must be around!

A month ago I requested a quote on a new order. At the same time I asked him to explain why he was acting the way he does. I couldn't get a straight answer this time either. He was just saying something about him being scammed or other bs.

Well you're not the only one who is getting aggrevated. It's like 4 months ago now that he would send my package. I have phoned him a couple times now as he doesn't reply to my mails anymore. He now told me (a week ago now) that he would send it with the regular mail because GLS does not ship small packages anymore. Guess what, nothing showed up, and no email, no call.. nothing. I seriously don't understand this guy. I'll phone him again on monday, or maybe even tomorrow. This is seriously taking the piss
You dont happen to have his phone number do you? I think he has taken it off his website.
If enough people keep relentlessly hasseling him, he might get the message.
