CreepinPyro Have you had your delivery yet from Keten?.I have not made an order yet from them and wont bother if you have no succes with them...
Package received yesterday. I haven't had a chance to inspect the contents yet, but my brother says that it's reassuringly heavy, and no spillage! : ) Lukasz finally apologised for the delays, so I suppose I'll give him another chance. By the way, this was a 150EUR order, around the 4Kg mark. Perhaps he is shaping up after all!
Good luck with your orders people!

So all in all it took about 6-7 weeks to get to you?
So by that I have a couple of weeks to wait yet oh well.
P.S. my order is in the 25Kg weight range, so I will be more than a bit disapointed if it does not come through.
Wish me luck.

"...I have accepted englich unpatience as norm - many customers from UK are the same. Strange but nice .... I look forward to future business"
Cheeky git!
By the way, I just picked up some Napthalene crystals from THIS seller on Ebay for black smokes... The seller has some other random bits and bobs which may be of interest to some.

Anyway, nice find on the Ebay store, might buy something there too sometime.
At least your last order took "only" 7 weeks, mine took 6 months (!)

Yes, from payment to delivery it was about 7 weeks. Just received another email from Lukasz this morning - he's such a joker!

lol, cheeky indeed
While on the dodgy/slow suppliers, that eBay seller 888malc is a bit (well very) dodge, for starters he sells poisons and when I checked he is not registered on the poisons register, nice and illegal then. I have a friend who bought something from him a while back, after 6 weeks nothing came so he asked for a refund and got arsed about by 888malc (his real name is Malcolm Braithwaite or surname/alias being Askew). For two and a half weeks over a dozen emails were sent asking for a refund, no reply, then out of the blue a reply in poor English saying 'I post it tomorrow'.
Note that this eBay seller illegally uses Royal Mail to ship hazardous chemicals, also his items come with illegal labels that give no indication as to the dangerous nature of the product. From another source; 888malc sells Methanol (a poison, all sellers are required to be registered, which he isn't) which is also classed as 'LQ0', which means that it has to be transported by an ADR courier in ALL quantities. 888malc sent it in a flimsy bottle (without a child proof closure, another legal requirement for poisons) with insulation tape round the neck, a plane paper label with "Methyl Alcohol" inkjet printed on it which was cello-taped to the bottle (not a full retail CHIP compliant label as required by law), and to top it off it was sent by Royal Mail, it wasn't even recorded delivery.
Anyway, back to my friend's experience, he had decided that he wanted a refund and so said politely to 888malc not to send the item, just issue a refund. Another week passed, still nothing, no reply, no refund, no item posted. So he filed a Paypal dispute (which took a month and a half to go through), with all the information easily at hand, i.e. no searching was required to find the transaction as Paypal would have highlighted the transaction in red on his Paypal login page, 888malc just ignored it for two weeks. When it was escalated to a dispute 888malc entered a random made-up number into the Paypal dispute console and claimed that was the tracking number for the item that had already been sent. It then took Paypal four weeks to issue the refund.
So upon reflection, it would seem that 888malc consistently and regularly flounts the law; no CHIP compliant labels, not registered to sell poisons, uses Royal Mail to ship hazardous goods and uses packaging that is not CHIP compliant. You can bet your bottom dollar that he is not registered under the Data Protection Act either. So everyone's details would probably get handed out to anyone who asked.
Creepin_Pyro, do keep us up to date on this supplier, has your item arrived? and what packaging did it come in?
Didn't it get suggested a while ago that we have an APC style section to rate suppliers? Perhaps a pole could be set up in every supplier's section to rate delivery time packaging etc. If of course the Pyrosociety forum gets such a section.

I've contacted the guy in the past but haven't received any reply, which seems to suggest he isn't too bothered, and will continue with his practices until he gets into trouble.... After buying some lactose and waterglass (looking at the packageing, and looking at what else he's selling) I tried to confirm that he was registered for selling poisons, and that his labelling/shipping arrangements for the hazardous stuff were up to scratch....
I also advised him that selling NitroBenzene (the MSDS on this nearly made me s**t my pants) and Gallic acid (an illegal drug precursor), amongst other scary items, was probably not the best idea. Seems pretty incredible that Ebay will take saltpeter auctions off their site, while allowing someone to sell some of the stuff that he lists!
I'll check back with delivery/packaging info when/if the order arrives.
I do like the idea of a supplier review section - would also be useful for Ebay sellers, as there are, believe it or not!, some good ones out there.
EDIT:
What REALLY pisses me off is that Ebay just proactively removed a listing I had up because of keyword spamming (the listing was 'Genuine Canon Angle Finder C') - I cannot see any spam in there, but the mere fact that they go around looking for these things, and not bothering about sellers listing things that could easily KILL SOMEONE!!!.....
I'll stop ranting now - I could go on....

He looks like another KNO3.com in the making... watch that space.
I'd like to see a review section on suppliers, I kind of got going with some key members really interested but it seemed to fizzle out. The APC forum did have a number of UK/Europe ones on the list but was mainly geared towards the US. I can imagine that the list would get very long pretty quick if eBay sellers were added and added.

Looks to me that ebay doesn't have any idea about chemicals at all.eBay is so backwards!

I had no problem with delivery from 888malc but am shocked he's posting liquids! Clearly courting disaster.
No MSDS from him for me either, although it was only Cu2O not nitrobenzene .
Supplier review section sounds useful, might save me from ending up on too many nasty websites.
