I tried to deal with Nitroparis last year and they were quite helpful, but they wanted to be paid by some kind of bank transfer that was going to cost a fortune. How did you guys manage to pay them?

Phil, if you get that far with them, i can arrange the transfer for you quite cheaply :)

Hello,

I have found a seller who owns an eBay chemical store, and was wondering if a $26 is exactly considered a good price for one micron aluminum dust / 400 grams?

Thanks.

MDH...$26 for 400g is too good a price for 1micron aluminium powder. At that price i have to doubt if it is actually that fine. 1mic aluminium is very expensive.

Also, aluminium powder that fine is insanely reactive, and great care should be exercised when using it. Avoid it, is my advise!

Very well then, in regards to the aluminum...

I was merely curious.

On another note - besides "colour coding" any star compositions I happen to make in the near future, is there some use for colour dye compositions? I have a local seller who has a number of compounds often used by the food industry in the US (Although he is on this side of the border). The only thing I was interested in was potassium bromate, however he was only selling that in kilogram amounts and the police might visit me thinking I was actually going to use it in bread (bromated bread is now illegal here as opposed to the US among many countries) - I would only pay for small, experimental amounts as bromates are close to chlorates in their sensetivity.

I'm most interested in blue and red dyes, and possibly tartrazine - as fuels?

Thats a fair price for that lot, considering the weight you have there, nearly 6kg. The shipping cost alone will be quite high.

I have access to loads of willow, all kiln dried so i guess would turn to charcoal very quick.
They are offcuts of cricket bats so may have a small amount of wax on the end of them, which i guess will melt of very easily. I can also get stuff which does not have any wax coating as well.
Anyone interested???
Would willow sawdust/shavings be any good for making charcoal or would it burn to easy when being cooked? can get several 100 kilos of that as well.

I think it would work better in fact than big chunks and faster. Are you willing to make it charcoal for me?

Unfortunately I don't have the room or facility's at my house to make charcoal.
I think my neighbours would complain if I start smoking them out with fires :)
Just wondered if anyone wanted the wood to make their own.

Mate if I were only closer Id bite your hand off. Sawdust is good for making charcoal too but takes a bit more time to make as it insulates the inner of the container from the heat for a while btw.

i got loads of willow airfloat, but not sure if its going to be worth sending it out to you coz the postage will make it uneconomical.
