Well as some of you know I have made some projection shells, they project numbers/letter into the air from the ground. I tested a number 3 today and it shows how well they work. Check out the vid. Sorry was in daytime and I missed the top part of the number as it was huge! But it works for any number or letter you want. Enjoy!

As much as I would like to, I cant. These shells are used in Malta, whilst the construction was our own idea we cant publish them. But discussion is ok, think of pattern shells fired at ground level.

I saw a video of a display in Malta (sorry, I cant remember which factory) where ground shells spelled out M A L T A. I was quite delighted by the effect.

Karl, When you make the template for the letter, number or other shape/symbol, are the stars arranged in an exact but smaller arrangement of the intended effect in the sky, or are they placed so that when thrown out they form the symbol, though are not in the shape of the symbol while inside the shell?

I hope you can make sense of the above sentence, Thanks!

They are made the way you mention first, just the same as a normal pattern shell. They are just fired differently from a normal shell. The reason I cant give too much info out is because the constrution and method of firing has been passed to St Jospehs firework factory, the Maltese are very competative and I do not want other factories having the idea. With any other idea I would normally give details but afraid not for this one. Sorry. The factory in Malta is Santa Marija of Mqabba, they spell lots using this method.

I've been digging through old vids tonight and found this, i must have shot it about half a year ago.
The break wasn't very symmetrical but overall it wasn't too bad.

LOL, thats the one I was going to use. Going to break out my rare 10-Micron MgAl, I'll be testing it against the 200# the formulas call for before I make a large batch, will post vid of the results comparing the two
