Thanks, i just wish i had a colour laser instead of a plain one. Could make some really sweet labels with one of them! Thinking of another device to make, maybe a mine 4" double layer with reports, hmmmm need ideas.... On the freak pyromaniacs web site there are some amazing displays from all over the world and lovely pictures taken at firework factory's. Might have a little look and get some ideas.....

Im very impressed with your work karl, and i cant wait to see the videos! Will you be recording the 2" comet aswell? What do you mean by having stars in the top compartment? Is it a cavity comet?

Hello mate and welcome, yeah we will film all of them. The comet is a cavity comet with a few mg yellow stars on top, the lift should ignite them. They seem to be a bit crumbly at the moment so i hope they dont fall apart and act as flash!!!! Working on them still...might be because i used meths and not acetone? Hmm!

Yeah. Your shells look so professional..... I?m looking forward to see the effect of these little sweeties :P

Today we shot the 3" tigertail shell I talked about a page before... Nice lift, the lift-effect worked well and the break was dense. Long lasting sparks...

Video coming soon....

good night,

paul

Well its like this,

Last night myself and Karl tested his 5" and a 3" of mine, but dear old Waz here only left the lens cap on the video.
What i will say is that it was an excellent shell, good height, nice burst and great hummers.
Many apologies to Karl and all you folk who were wanting to see it.
I consider myself lucky that when the comet goes up Karl is giving me another chance to video it. :o

I think the mouth pattern came out ) but not the eyes : it broke well and the red stars came out and i think all lit. The timing was great but the hummers sounded brill!!! wizzzzzzzzzzzzz! The lift was something else though!THUMP! Wazi's shell was great and i loved the spherical burst and added titanium, the hang time was fantastic, just right! No worries waz will will shoot the comet soon. Next on the cards maye a half and half shell 3 inch.

The shell contained my own bp willow and broke nicely. I used commercial lift (Thanks waz) 50g, It was so impressive. Really the shell was a test to see if anything would fail, the design i used has until now never was made above 4inch so i now know it can stand high stress from the lifting charge. You have to see the vid of his, its wonderful!

The 3rd and last of my Titanium Willow 1/4 inch (Heinz/Shimizu) Lifted with my latest batch of homemade granulated lift. looked really good and great hang time. Best yet. :D

May look very familiar to you Regi. ;)

Just made a new batch of "Purest Green" which will be loaded into a 3" soon. Previous batch tested well, but needs a heavy prime.

God - I just love that Titanium willow formula. The hangtime is marvellous, but the visual effect is also a real high impact one. Look forward to seeing your "Purest Green"

Yeah, thats the problem with filming shells... "Darker" effects like willow or willow with some Ti or MgAl in it can?t be filmed very good.

Recently I had to make the same experience when a friend filmed the 3" tigertail shell... In "reality" the effect had a hang time of about 30secs. The last sparks went down to the ground, but in the video you can see the effect only a few secs.
I hope I get that video soo... :)

greets,
paul

So, here it is: VIDEO

This link will work for 7days and only a restricted number of dl?s. Don?t know how many. So good luck :D

Shame they dont get caught well on camera, the willow looked fantastic. I timed it and it was 4.7 seconds! It must have gone really high though, it was perfect! I am gonna look for DV cameras and try to get one that has a very sensitive ccd, and also an option to turn that bloody auto colour balance off!!!! Cant wait to fire the comet next and start on a new shell using the plastic hemis i found at an art shop :D
