Hey guys,

Well me and Wazi shot two sells lastnight, wazi's 4 inch pink ring shell with crackle and my 5 inch willow with blue pistil. Both were fantastic, cant fault waz's shell on bit it was spot on. However my time fuse was waaaayyyyyy too long and i will have to up the size of the pistil stars.

Select '100 mm pink ring - crackle' for wazi's and '125mm willow - blue pistil' for mine (enjoy)

Cheers for all your comments, the shells were really nice! I just love those crackles, they are so good and dont need a prime. Good way to liven up a shelll. I have lots and lots of larger cut blue stars ready for a saturn shell :D I hope it works

Here's my second 2.5" cannister shell. This time I used 20 verticals in the spiking pattern (ther previous one had 12), everything else was kept constant from the prevoius attempt. This resulted in a bigger and a more even spread.

Heres a few photos and the video clip:

Karl - I'm looking forward to seeing that sun and planets shell! It will be very interesting.
I'm tempted to try a 2.5" multi-break can shell next.

cheers Karl and wazi, the stars were 8mm pumped D1 glitter, the formulation using 58% KNO3.

JamesH, I watched the video first and thought it was an round shell :D Nice break, for a 2.5" very symmetrically and powerful!

karlfoxman and wazi: Love your work :D Liked the great hang time of the willow effect! The shape, like a real willow tree....!

keep it up guys!!!

James: Just watched your vid, fantastic break!! You know your onto a winner when you get a break like that from a cylindrical shell. All the walls and ends break at near the same pressure, nice looking stuff.

I am working on a 3 inch spherical shell with red stars, I hope to finish before christmas eve if the stars don't take too long to dry. I'll post a video of it but in the meantime here are some pictures of my homemade hemis made from thinned woodglue and green tissue paper.

I'm not sure what to use for a break these are my choises which should I use
sulfurless BP on rice puffs
h3 on rice puffs
kno3 mg Flash powder
sulfurless Bp granulated
h3 granulated
all of my stars are chlorate based so I can't have any sulfur in the break

If it was me i would stay away from kclo3 all together, just too many issues. I can understand you wanting to make colours but not having kclo4. What barrier will you use for the visco if you use a H3 bursting charge? Also how will you prime the delay and have you tested your lift? Try not to run before you can walk, i dont even use kclo3 based comps and i've been building pyro for 10+ years. Wish you all the best but i suggest you make a load of safe tiger tail or willow stars and stick with no chlorate. Your hemis look pretty good, what you form them on?
