Fantastic work Karl, thats a beauty! I'm really looking forward to seeing the video. You seem to have pasted it in by another method, could you elaborate? Looks like you learnt a lot from your trip to malta!
Yes I will tell you how I do the paste wrap, after fully stringing the shell with twine I cover the entire lot with 50:50 mix pva/hot water. Then dry in the sun, after that I wrap the shell in 2 turns of kraft that has been soaked on the water/pva mixture and apply it. The ends are folded over and I apply end caps made from kraft paper and had pva/water brushed on. Finaly I give the outer walls two turns of gummed tape, it justs seems to pull everything tight. The top of the shell around the time fuse looks shiny because the string is soaked in just pva and then to stop leaks.
I have used alot of different techniques here so im hoping everything works out ok.
Thanks for your comments on the shell, I have lots more construction photos and am planning of zipping them in a downloadable file.

No not beraq im afraid, I needed more time to make them and perfect them. The inserts were about the same size as beraq but they use chinese time delay fuse as the delay. I will be trying a fully Maltese shell soon as me and a friend on this forum recently visited your lovely country, we learnt some stuff from the guys at St Josephs.
Thankyou for the GOOD LUCK!

But for those who don?t I found a description of that type of shells. *klick me*
I hope it is allowed in this case to link to another pyro-related page. Because I didn?t know what to do with the "Beraq" either...

Can you give a few details of the shell?

Filled with 8mm cut stars, these were primed with just one layer of crysanthemum with a few % added 50micron Al.
The break was a 2-layer paper tube of 20mm diametre centered in the shell filled just with 3hr milled straw-charcoal bp that was riced together with 5% dextrine. Lift was 30g because of the relatively poor powder I used.
The space between the stars was filled up with "rough powder". Just bad, riced black powder.
Can?t give any more details. Hehe just forgot to make any pix.

Now from learning lessons and adjusting various things I am building another one, same size and same number of crackers. This time the delay is primed and crossmatched. Im using different grade of magnesium for the colour flashes. Ill get some pictures of the construction soon.
I also have sun and planets 2 on its way, its bigger than the previous. Also using 40 veline orange 1" comets for the sun break. I have adjusted the formula to meet my requirements, the closets colour to the comets is a street light. They have a 6 second burn. The planets are using cut stars, also a modded veline to give 'baby blue' coulour.
The sequence of firing should be, 0:00 sec lift - 0.8 first break ejecting all planet shells and sun break - 1.5 seconds all the planets and the sun break - 1 second 10 white beraq break around the sun - 1 second bottom shot.
Here is some pictures.
Two pictures are of my 125mm magnesium red heart shell, 2g flash boost and filler in 50% shell.
