I'm really impressed with everybody's pasting ..... I'm sure you'd get a job in most Chinese factories!
Trying to do something very beautiful but very dangerous very safely....

Excellent work as ever Sasman! Did you use a booster as well in those shells?

I've decided to hang on with my whistle booster as I'm convinced its not fast enough! Passfire refers to whistle as second only to flash and nothing about needing to be confined like KP. Screened some benzoate and it wont pass a 120 mesh so I think it needs milling. I,ve just ordered some more .570 lead balls to use for milling non bp oxidisers and fuels so I'll mill the perc and benzoate (separately) and see what happens before I use it in a shell.

Just off to prime some emerald greens and Davies white.

LOL! There are more sensible ways to get the light out. Make some super bright white-mag comets and if it is a light that has a light sensor fire one or 2 off next to the light and it will go out ;). Superb work as usual Sasman!!!

Nice shells there, sasman!

Anyway, I just got the impression (especially on the third shell!) that the break ist just too massive! Not a nice and "full" round pattern anymore, just stars getting the sh*t blown out by a massive break charge...

Liked shell 2 most :P

P.S: Like the *bling* *bling* black powder as well!

Video Update!

Today we shot the 5" described above! Wow, fantastic sound! Later we recognized why the lift was so damn loud. The mortar was halved afterwards :)
Anyway, the lift was okay, could´ve been much higher. Next time we´ll use the 6" fibre-tube again...

The camera´s focus took too long, so the effect (two halves, one silver streamer, one charcoal streamer) can only hardly be seen ):

Judge yourselve!

Pudi.dk, that was a good lift for 15.3g. I need to use 25g for a 3" or it would be underlifted. The power of the break seemed quite good due to the pasting I guess but I've not seen a break like that before. The stars seemed to go in whatever direction they felt like! strange but nice! Was it a plastic shell pasted or paper?

What do your 3" normally weight? I think the total weight of the shell (inclusive everything) came up to about 150 g.
Yeah the break was a bit strange, my TT tends to behave that way, maybe it's the active charcoal I use that make it floating in air, instead of falling?
I used paper hemispheres.
