Phew! What a great weekend and a great show to boot.
For the first time ever I saw...
- The setup finished with time to spare
- The largest flash pots I've EVER seen (adam take a bow)
- A mascelata style [spelling?] final salute (aka the washing line of doom. - Richards baby)
- 3 Girandolas taking off at once (!)
BigG doing an impersonation of what a sunflower should look like was just a bonus.
For information the show was mostly handfired by Richard, AdamW and BigG, with only a few [6?] electrical cues. Some beautiful cakes - The following all stand out in my mind
- Z fanned rainbow
- Fast Z fanned gold tracer brocade,
- ring cake
- a nice noisemaker in the form of a 36 x 2.5inch airbomb cake.
Shells were mostly 3's and fours and fives and a couple of eights. [HUGE!] BigG was responsible for the awesome colour combinations. The horsestails [aka waterfall shells] went down particulary well
Adam did a nice piece with fanned mines leading to a couple of big shell breaks.
Audience who have seen a fair few shows in the past went away with dropped jaws. One guy sought us out saying that this was the best yet - high praise indeed.
My personal thanks go to all who turned out and lent support [moral or otherwise]. It's good to put faces to names and shake the hands of fellow pyros [Stillsy and Karl]. Chemicalwazi and Creepin' were invaluable as were all the others who helped out with the setup and teardown.
I've now got to lie down in a darkened room and recover.
