hello this is my first post i know but i hvae been a member here for some time but i was waiting the validation.

anyways ive searched high and low on the forum and on googe to find a supplier of chemicals, the basics i can get such as sulphur, potassium nitrate charcoal but its aluminium flake sim having trouble with

i bought some not long ago but read it was anodized (or atomised i forget) but anyways its not at all good for salutes as i found and and read afterwards

so i would very much appreciate it if someone could help me out finding a supplier of aluminium powder/flakes (best for salutes) or even magnesium powder

First of all:
Suppliers of various chemicals have beem discussed here in this forum. It is strange that you didn't find any info about it.

Second:
Please take away "Aluminium + Permanganate = BoOoOoOm!" before people here get really angry.

I'm not sure if I'm the one to tell this, because I don't post here regular...
But why do you want to make salutes, you can make beautifull things with BP or modified KNO3/S/C comp, which are much more satisfeing then a bang.

And whatch out with KMnO4 in pyrotechnics, it is only dangerous and stains everything brown(MnO2) and water purple.

You can make salutes with BP too btw...

i know but i like bangs and i want to do them wel before i start on fountains etc

If you don't want to learn how to walk before you start running then I suggest you will go to different forums. Salutes are not something to be taken lightly - they are very dengerous forum of pyrotechnic that will get you in trouble. It sound like you have no experience in pyrotechnic and I will strongly advise you against the folish things you are attampting to do.

Second - It's almost impossible to get aluminium flake in this country - but there were verious discussion about turning atomized to flake. Between us - stay green and do fountains.
