You COULD get a PC with that performance at that price if you bought the parts in like Microsoft in millions at a time at trade prices. Although I'm not sure there is a tri-processor motherboard on the market that can take IBM 3.2GHz Processors.

This article claims they are making a loss on the bits: Xbox Costs vs Price where it says: "the parts cost for the Xbox 360 Premium is $525, over $100 more than its retail price tag".

This article is from a few years ago, talking about XBOX 1 losses: "The loss grew as the Xbox became available around the world, driving up segment revenue from $833 million to $1.28 billion. In the video game console industry vendors typically lose money on each console they sell, but try to earn that back when selling games, accessories and services."

This more recent article claims the Xbox 1 annual losses to date as: "In the fiscal year ended June 30, that unit lost $391 million on sales just shy of $3.25 billion. That's a little more than 8% of Microsoft's total sales of $39.8 billion."

I heard somewhere that MS lost $2Bn in total on Xbox 1, and they are not actually expecting to make a net profit on the whole range, until Xbox 3. But I can't seem to find the article to show you.

Microsoft gets most of the money through games and gimmicks like additional controllers etc.

It?s the same with Sonys consoles.

Ha, I was wondering how long it would take until someone would start selling them on ebay. ;)
If you make it idiot proof, then they will just make a better idiot.

The scams that you can find on ebay are scary!!! Look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e...29944&fvi=1

Private feedback, 10, 100% positive.

Now look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...1QQcmdZViewItem

Non provate feedback, but again 10, and 100% positive, looks suspiciously like the same guy buying stuff from himself to get feedback, then actually look at the feedback remarks, and the items, complete non-items, non-feedback. Ill be reporting that to e-bay ;)
