Heres what I finally ended up with :
Theres about 13 trees in these sticks!
All of the intro / middle weatherproofed
Half of the smaller cakes weatherproofed
Finale cakes
One of the kids took a picture from the upstairs window, damn flash! A pretty big rocket going up from my display here!
The shells from one of the fancakes. These are 30mm. End caps still in place, along with the timefuse.
Fired my first display

Where one of the wheels landed after it ripped off the nail. Noone was harmed.
WOW, Alot to clear up this morning!
Some of the fired cakes. We had 3 that wouldn't fire due to damp fuses. Better weatherproofing next time! But everying else fired perfectley, and they spent nealy two hours out in the rain (weatherproofed)!
Small candles, mines ect.
And what was the Finale. A RP-60 Fancake, RP Gold & Blue cake, DRD Fandancer, 8 Mortar Mines and a Brightstar Satanic Descreation.
Huge bore from the RP-60 Fancake!
My Mortar Mines all fired perfectley. What a amazing 'thuwmp' they make when leaving the tube
Spent Satanic Descreation, I thought this thing was never going to end!
I found this on the other catherine wheel this morning, how did this happen?! It span perfectley and didn't stop!
Smoldering Victim?
All in all, It was a sucsess! I had these comments :
The best display I've ever seen
Amazing display!
I've seen some displays in my time but nothing compared to that!
Do It again on new year!
I was really chuffed with the comments, as this was my very first display. Firing everything by hand and on my own it was a challenge!
A couple of the portfires slowed things down abit, the fuses burnt into the casing but then nothing happened. I ended up throwing about 4 away because of this!

Nice one Karl .. nothing like the smell of burnt pyro lingering in the back garden
I always measure the success on my home display (when I get around to it) by the fact that the entire neighbourhood stops firing there pyro when I start and you can hear the applause from several streets away when I finish... then they all start up there own fireworks again.
Well I have to very anoyed little boys at home as they have not been to any of my shows this year and I have not done anything at home due to the fact I have not been here, hence I am off the raid the leftovers from the magazine to see what I can do for them this evening.. weather permitting (best thing about home displays... wethaer not goood you just save it for another night ).
