Using my cruddy & lumpish BBQ charcoal, 70:10:20 milled for ~ 3hr, I think its just about right.
I plan to use 2" canister heading for the 1/2" and maybe 3" ball for the 3/4". I will test them both to see how much they can lift.
I have some nice purple star comp mixed up, so i might try and use that. I need a star plate tho, my fingers nearly wore down making enough stars for a a few 3" ball shells with a srynge pump. I havent had enough of a go with rolling yet

Tube ID, OD.
Clay plug angle (rammer).
Clay plug length.
BP core length, base with, top with.
I'll repport back to you when I've finished the replica.
PS. How strong is your press? I'm trying to replace my old one, it started leaking, and now I could'nt crush an egg with it. DS.

If you make it waterproof they'll just make a deeper ocean.
If you make it foolproof... They'll just find 'emselves a redneck!

... You built a lathe??! lol how does that work? post a pic for us?
I'd post a pic, but i don't have a camera.
basically i casted most of the bits, out of aluminium, used lots of pulleys and stuff, and a 500W motor.
