I know a lot of the commercially available Cat3 25m displays in a box contain a fair bit of noise BUT has any manufacturer ever thought of creating (or indeed have) low noise single ignition displays? Low noise black powder starbursts/comets/bees/fish/flitter/glitter/spinners etc without heavy flash breaks/whistles/crackles/crackers/hummers/screechers or other loud effects would form the basis of such displays in a box, I think they're a good idea for those who would like to have a single ignition display but who have sensitive neighbours or live near elderly people/farmers/kennels/catteries etc. What does anyone else think?
I think they have to look at what the customers want, most people that i know who like fireworks like heavy breaks and huge bursts not to mention a few salutes. On the other hand people who want quite fireworks are quite a small percentage. The manufactures wont bother making a large item or expensive one that is quiet, it just wont sell.

Vulcan have 3 very nice low noise pieces in a range called Pyromantics, and there aren't any heavy flash breaks or loud noises just nice colour and pretties with low noise starbursts using blackpowder(and these are much quieter than the flashpowder bursts that most SIB starbursts make use of). They are available from 1st Galaxy Fireworks Nottingham.
In my eyes Vucan make some lovely pieces, also just using balckpowder can make seriously loud reports that can be heavier than flash. Large shalls use just a blackpowder break and rumble the ground mmmmm.

The bombette bursts in these pieces are specially engineered to just produce a small crack noise when the bombettes burst ejecting the stars, hence the lower noise bursts. In short a small ejection crack in bombettes that's not particularly loud or excessive. In my eyes Vucan make some lovely pieces, also just using balckpowder can make seriously loud reports that can be heavier than flash. Large shalls use just a blackpowder break and rumble the ground mmmmm.

I have never had one of these, but I have seen them around, and thought maybe one year, just to see what they do!
MYSTICAL FAIRYTALES by menshun, very expensive, very long duration (5 mins according to menshun's website), 226 shot, large single ignition display.
retails around £70'ish mark, usually listed under quiet fireworks section on some firework websites
also menshun do a cake called "STAR DUST".
which is a 140 shot "serene" barrage lasting 3 mins (no idea of price on this one).
regards
reb
Sure its edible, but who would want to eat it?
