Hi All,

I've gotten to the point where my stinger missiles are flying predictable and consistant and am ready to start adding some headings. I already know I can safely add a salute finish with the remaining space of the tube, but I'm hoping to do something more interesting. Can anyone provide some advice on adding interesting finishes to these guys? I'm inquiring because I know stinger missiles are quite senstive when it comes to balance. Lloyd Sponenburgh recently posted on rec.pyro that he witnessed a stinger carrying up a 4" ball shell at FPAG. Not that I want to go that route, but just would like to know what these are capable of lofting.

How about a crossette header? Four 1" +/- crossettes would look pretty cool and should be somewhat easy to control the balance. The header would be short and easily centered on the motor. It would also have the bonus of being somewhat light giving the stinger the best chance of lofting it. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think both will work well with stingers. I have already seen some dragon eggs on the commercial stinger missiles known as "Hestia Sky Cruiser" and they worked quite well. The crossette idea sounds cool as well, esp if you group them in four like the Rebenklau style format. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to perfect both at the moment. I'm having problems getting consistant results with crossettes as I often have them jetting or breaking to hard or soft. Still working on the correct priming for the dragon eggs, but these should be less of a problem then the crossettes.

Definitely more to come...

I want to see video, because I imagine the break throwing the eggs around in a nice circular pattern from the high speed rotation of the stinger :)
