Yes i spent over ?800 in getting all the gear for making Perc...But after i had spent all that money...a few months later i made a few phone calls and found a supplier of perc.. thats what i mean by sods law..My cell was very effective..here is the link....Perc Cell..
Also dont forget i have had prices for Ammonium Perchlorate well over ?20 Kg i can make it for much less than that....So the cell will one day have paid for itself..

Now i can still make Perc myself but i would rather Buy it knowing for sure that it a a constsitant quality..Also i payed about ?9 kg for 100kg & shortly after that i have found perc is very very cheap..less than ?2 Kg!!..The Visco can be had in the UK with no liceneses.. ?5 or ?6 + Vat Also Quick match at about same price
You need a licence for fuse if its !.4 G .Visco and Quick match is 1.3 G

Excellent work on the Perc cell, really detailed stuff. Has encouraged me to read up more on electrolysis, it appears a good route to pyro compounds.

I'm surprised the visco in quantity doesn't require a licence, given the weight .

Reading MSER (I'm learning legalese) I'm keeping stocks below the legal limit, I won't scale up until I am more experienced.

Hence buying in small quantities and paying over the odds.

It sould have not been subjected to duty if it came from spain. If the packaging was not upto spec it could have been impounded on grounds of saftey! :(

So what?s going to be the total cost needed, how much is raised,

Hmmm, if it?s going to get here cheap enough including shipment. I may front a lot/all of the money.

If there could be a profit to be made selling it cheaper then everyone in the UK then I can set up a website selling it to hobby pyros and companies.

Personally I don?t think I could ever use that much all on my own

Looking at www.ukvisco.com, they sell Chinese Visco, 1/8th Inch Diameter (5m) for ?6.25 that is very expensive

If the price we can get it for would mean I could sell it a lot less than that website then I think we could all be onto a winner

Storage may take a bit longer to sort out and safety regs.

What do you guys think????

Perhaps we can form some sort of website selling all pyros goodies such as shells tubes chems etc if we can get it cheap enough

Anyone fancy a business venture loll

All legal of course

Me and Karl are already planning this with Flame Labs, we hope to sell the Dancing Red Devil brand of fireworks along with tubes, storage, tools, chemicals and possibly fuse.

So we would be interested in buying a large stock of fuse for the site as well as some for personal use.

A cheap & well stocked UK pyro supply would be wonderful!
Very few raw components are restricted i think. Probably just chlorates & flake metal? If we actually did compile our UK suppliers and do bulk ordering, i bet it would be nearly as good if not better value than ordering from china.

Importation of fuse isn't just a case of sending an order and receiving it. Any Class 1 article entering the UK must have a valid CAD (competant authority document). This means the HSE must have been made aware of it, and issue a "license" for it to come into and be transported into/around the UK.

If the particular fuse already has an entry then you don't need to get one however you need to prove that the fuse is identical in everyway (including its packing). The hse provide no help in proving this - so it's usually not the route to go and hence a new CAD must be applied for. This will include ensuring chlorate and sulphur are not in admixture.

Southampton is licensed to receive class 1, as is Felixstowe.

There is a simple answer to this, you can hire warehouses or storage facilities and get a PO Box address. They only cost about ?9.95 a week and you would only need it for a few weeks. As I have found out (through many emails) that wholesaler etc only ship to certain address, this is pretty much your only option.
