The smoke grenade I got from the military. It was a HC smoke grenade. I believe the composition was HCE/Flake Al/ZnO based. I probably weighed around a pound or so.
The coloured smokes I will be making more of. I have tried, but had some problems with yellow(Quinoline yellow based) and blue(indigo based?). They will not burn consistently when formed into stars. I can tell you getting good coloured smoke shells REALLY is a challenge. I will try some more though.
These are the dyes I have:
Rhodamine B
Para Red
Quinoline Yellow
Auramine O
Either indigo pure or Phthalo blue
So I have some different possibilities.
Also, I will be firing another smoke grenade from the military this christmas, my last one. It is signal red smoke;) Look forward to it!

My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But, ah, my foes, and, oh, my friends - it gives a lovely light.
