Hello Guys,
I'm 16 and I love pyrotechnics ! I like Physical science and chemistry too ! I was wondering if I could do a job of a pyro (live of that). Wich studies must I do ? I'm living in Canada (Quebec) and I want to know where I could find a mentor who could teach me on the field.

Well, it really depends on what you want to do. If you want to be a shooter, there isn't really much you need to study in school, it is more a trade you apprentice into it seems. If you want to manufacture, same thing. If you want to sell fireworks retail, I would say business degree. If you want to do pyrotechnic chemistry, I would say give one of the Kosanke's an e-mail, and ask them. They would be the first place I would go. The best place would probably be in the military with research in energetic materials.

I thought about doing this too, but I don't really know where I would go for it. I am looking more into pharmacology myself.

Thank You but I'm unable to send them an e-mail. I wanna do some trainings with them but they are in Uk and me in Canada. I haven't find any trainings givens in Canada. Only 1 given by the governement to get a license.

You could find out who does the shows locally to you, and contact them informally to find out more about the business, then widen the search to other companies in Canada. I know they are out there. I don't think it makes for much more than an intermittent part-time job, so as they say, "don't quit your day job".
