I thought the London fireworks were excellant. They even rivelled Sydney this year, the brightness was lost on TV I think as the cameras couldn't adjust fast enough and "bleached" out. The noise must have been fantastic standing on the Embankment. 10 out of 10.
i saw pics of the sydney one, it looked amazing.
saw some of edinburgh, it was good.

Think the display in Edinburgh was better. The London show was stereched to last longer so it was fiered a lot more slowly and was a little lack lustre in my opinion.

You have to be kidding!!!! Were you there? I was, and i can honestly say it was one of the most amazing displays i have ever seen. It was soooooo intense, colourful and LOUD i was absolutely buzzing whilst watching it. Even the fact that we had to walk almost 1 hour to get there, endure all the crowds, and then 1 hour back, didnt spoil it! Seeing it on TV doesnt begin to do it justice, its one of those occasions that you had to be at, to really appreciate its marvel. A display we can be proud of......at last!!

Good use of the 'eye' - 1/2sec fountains sequence etc was good.
Some nice shells and effects (purple strobe)
Finale OTT - too many shells at once.

I have seen a similar effect on a foreign display - see here Hannover 2005
I can't believe that the show was done with individual items - it must be something else??

Apparently 3000 cues on the wheel and 10,000 tubes on the barges. Didn't look like a single Chinese shell was used.
