Ok, Ive been sussing out some saltpeter and in a different post I came across this "potassium nitrate fertiliser".
This is the link:

I'm not sure about "Soluble Potash (K2O) 46%". Does anyone know if this saltpeter is viable for use in BP?

Yes, the stuff is fine. There are like 3 threads from the last few days about KNO3 fertilizer. Read one of those. It will work fine for BP, or pretty much any other pyro use you have in mind.

I would be careful in what you use it. It seems that it would behaive quite differently. It would be advantageous to obtain pure kno3 as it will oxidize and impregnate the charcoal much better because of its molecular structure.

If I recrystalise the KNO3 will that make my KNO3 alot better.

Hmmm, I say yes. Think of crystals like lego blocks. Because of the molecular structure of any chemical when it is crystalizing it really only crystalizes or builds on something that it fits on. So on one hand it may crystalize and be perfectly pure (or close to). Other hand if there is too many impurities it may not crystalize at all because of all the other molecules that don't fit. Sugar and salt being a good example, crytalizing sugar is easy, but when you add salt to the mix it won't work because of the difference in molecular structure. As a final note, you are contemplating crystalizing your kno3, have you contemplated buying real kno3? lol, some are more stingy than others but whatever works for you.

Allright then i'll test some recrystalised KNO3 against some that i haven't recrystalised and see how it performs, thanks
