Hey guys, ive been calling around for the last hour looking for a KNO3 supplier and have of them dont stock it but suggest this other thing called 'Pot Ash'.. has anyone else heard this term before? what is it? is it the same as kno3? thanks

Potash is K2CO3. They think you are looking for a potassium source, which the potash would accomodate. If they ask again, tell them you don't need the potassium source, you need the non-amonical nitrogen source. This narrows it down between KNO3, NaNO3, and Ca(NO3)2 for the most part.

lol i actually did have a look on google... obviously didnt look hard enough. Although i have now found a supplier just about 20mins down the road! This is the info sheet i got off the net, can someone have a look at this and tell me if its pure or not.. im just not too sure about how to tell

The potassium content threw me for a second. It's usually measured in percent K2O. That is straight %K. I was sitting here trying to figure out for about 10 min, what kind of contaminates it could have, but still keep the proper %N. That should be fairly pure.

That's actually the same place I ordered my first 50 kg from. Great, I guess that source is rooted now... Anyway, their product was Orica sourced and contained a percent or two of Chloride and other Potassium salts other than the Nitrate. It is quite sufficiently pure enough for BP however, it is even very low in Sodium.
I recrystalised a few kg of it twice to yield ultra-pure stuff that I keep for demanding applications.
