The Skyshow is on tomorrow night! Woo!

A pity there aren't any other active pyros on this board in Perth, as it'd be a good opportunity to meet up, but I imagine a few of you eastern-statesers are going to be getting together?

It's always fun, anyway, even if you have to shoulder your way through the several hundred thousand people that infest the foreshore to see it, and some years are a bit lacking in variety. It's the only big show we get down under, but it is, at least, a genuinely international-scale show. Apparently Perth and Sydney are the only sites large enough to shoot 24" shells for the finale, so that's a bit of a bonus if you live here or there...

For people around the rest of Australia, how are the shows in your city? Anyone know what the budget for it this year is?

---

Edit: Torrent for Perth Skyshow telecast is here. You'll need to sregister to view it, though. :(

Yeah the big shows are nice, unfortunatly for me, i live in a very small town in a very regional area. Australia day is pretty much just a good excuse for me to go out of town to a mates place and set off some ametuer stuff. And have a few drinks/steaks too of course.
my friend: What's that?

me: It's a fuse.

my friend: Oh.

Aye, your local capital's show should be. But what with the time difference, the eastern states shows are stating right now, so this may be a little late. :(

Speaking of which, I should leave soon...

Our just finished. I watched it from the deck and it was very good for our town. I was quite impressed even though i only saw the larger shells and rockets (but its all you want to see isn't it?;) )

Finale was just tons of shells which looked great and the final shell was huge with this silver rain effect which lasted ages (10-15seconds) and it merely floated slowly........great finish.

I think it was done to music like last year but couldn'y tell because were were a few kms away.

I think it was AUD$100,000 (?42,228) worth. Probably nothing compared to the capitals but it was free and saw it from the deck with a nice strong breeze....Doesnt get much better.....unless i was there lighting them all by hand :)

I just got back from the Perth one. Not the greatest this year but a few good points. I'll do a short write-up tomorrow at work if I get time. Sleep now.

Edit: I still haven't had time to do a proper write-up, but I did find a torrent of the TV telecast of the Perth show here. You'll need to register to download it, though. :(
