If BigG and karlfoxman would like to have payed notice to how long i have been a member of this forum for, before you started flaming me about wanting to make flash you'd of noticed im not just getting into pyro. 3 years i have been a member of this site and only now do i want to make flash and thats just to add a little more crack to the break on my shells, instead of H3. Big G if you think i havent made bp rockets ect ect. in 3 years of being on this site what do you think i have been doing.

Also how do you go about deleting your account?

BigG has contributed to the safety of members on this forum by posting warnings about such things since I can remember and has probably saved a few limbs in doing so, I believe he was right in warning you, he was simply telling you the dangers of Flash and how you should not jump into it. I think it's better to have been flamed than to have never been warned of the dangers and end up in hospital.

Karlfoxman is a man of experience and knowledge in pyro too, please listen to both of them.

I know the dangers of flash, and i do not consider mixing less than a gram of flash and trying to ignite it with visco dangerous. Also like i said previously i havent just jumped into it.

I have just recieved what i hope is alluminium powder. But im unsure so how can i test if it is? I have mixed up a crude little flash powder but it just crackled.

If you have no clue IF you have Al powder let alone WHAT type, I suggest like others who replied to steer away from flash for just a little bit longer.

Jerronimo is right. Whenever you are working with any new comp you should have everything you need at hand and have received it from a reputable place knowing you can be 100% sure you got what you wanted. You shouldnt be mixing chemicals that you are unsure of what they are, let alone trying to get Flash out of it. 3 years is not much experience in pyro. I have been doing it for longer and dread everytime I work with Flash, no matter how small the batch it is.

If you insist on working with Flash as you say you have enough experience with it I would HIGHLY recomend Ofca's book on working with Flash. It is highly informative and will give you some great information on how to do so safely since we can't control what you already have your mind set on.

I'll look in to purchasing that book of amazon soon.
The powder looks different to the 350 mesh stuff i had for flittering, its darker but when it hits my finger it sticks to it and the whole finger goes silver. Im fairly sure it is aluminium i just wanted to check and make sure.
Im sure mixing half a teaspoon of comp, and lighting with visco is safe.

Nothing is really ever "safe" in regards to pyrotechnics. That is one of the worst things to do is assume everything is ok. Make sure you do all the reading you can before you dive into Flash.

The thread was closed quite rightly by BigG, the questions you asked af been asked and answered in detail on this forum. All you need to do is search, its not that hard is it. I dont care if your biginner or vetran of pyrotechnics, safety always comes first. All pyrotechnic mixtures demand knowlage and respect, it only takes one time to loose part of you or somebody else. Read more on flash powders and their safe use before doing anymore work with them.

we have used flash powder many times now all i can say is listen to what they are saying and where are you gloves "when it hits my finger it sticks to is and the whole finger goes silver"
aluminium powder is very hazardous to health and has been linked to altzimers disease amongst others also always use gloves when handeling any pyro chemicals.
im sure you do take safety pecautions hoever it never hurts to be reminded of this as you rarely get a second chance after the first opps!

i know i do not post here very often but that is due to the fact i am very busey with lots of projects in the pyro industry i have been working with fireworks since i was 15 yes i i was young when i started however safety must and always is the first and moast important rule that was drummed into me from day one and is something that i think everyone will aggree on here.
