Yup, either your comp is too slow or your fuse hole is too large.

hmm yeah the comp is pretty fast so im guessing it was just the hole... also... when loading up the cracker with BP, is it best to put the bp in as hard as you can? or leave it fairly loose... if you get what i mean

Or your powder is compacted and is burning like a aluminium based star.

be more specific, how big the case is, how big the fuse is, is it granulated etc. If you pack it in as hard as you can it just becomes like a driver or something like a ground bloom flower, leave it loose.

I would say your comp is too slow. I have some that burns pretty fast but still wont 'crack'. If you think about the size of the holes on french bangers it would have to be a pretty big hole for that to be the problem. You need to try and get the maximum buringing in the shortest time.

Im guessing it would be a pretty bad idea to add a drop of hot wax/ glue to seal up my flash or BP crackers right ?? Or is this possible...

The new passfire used hot glue to seal in the flash to his crossettes. I am personally not comfortable with it. I would be afraid of hitting it with the tip, which is signifigantly hotter than the glue itself. At the same time I still use it to seal in my time fuse on my shell.

I also saw that on passfire I was a bit worried about it when I made a crossett, but nothing went wrong which was good. The last thing I want is a crossett going off in front of me, mind you worse COULD happen.

I don't know how you are constructing your crackers or what kind of fuse you use, but one way of making them without a fuse hole to speak of is: fold one end of the tube over and tape. pour powder into tube. place fuse into open end so that it sticks into the powder and also a fair way out of the tube. bent the end with the fuse over and tape it well. This works with blackmatch, but I don't know about other kinds of fuse. It makes a nice bang though.
