The only useful link I gleaned from that 27 page thread was a link to Manchester Minerals. They do some rock tumblers that look quite impressive. But the cheapest one that looks like it might do the job comes to over ?80 with barrel and postage. The one that would definitely do the job is over ?100.
It's a bit dear for something that just spins a barrel at the end of the day, but I'm not even going to try building my own!

I am thinking of buying the TUMBLER 900gm BEACH +BARREL Ref: 10-006 for ?49.95
Will that be okay for making small batches of BP (at a later date) and mixing my sugar/potassium nitrate mixture in to a really fine powder?
I know I need to buy the non-sparking lead media separately, does anyone know where I can get these lead balls from to put in the rock tumbler (assuming that the rock tumbler is suitable)?
