I have searched the forum, and not found much info on this topic so I thought I would start this:
Myself and a collegue have, for the last 5 years, been providing a small fireworks display for employees and family our company. This started as a very informal affair when the company was only about 15 strong. We now have over 100 employees, and the displays have been getting larger each year.
What is the procedure with insuring a self-fired display? They are not open to the public, and the spectators do not pay, but clearly the company would be liable for any accident that may occur. The site is kindly provided free of charge by a local land owner.
Is it financially viable to insure a single event? Last year we had a pro-fired display, partly to get some shells in the air, but being keen pyros we kind of missed the hands on side of planning, rigging and firing the display ourselves.
Can anyone recomend an insurance company for a quote, or give some idea of what I would expect to pay?
Appologies for the long post!

I have heard of insurance companies covering private displays but can't think who they used or the specific circumstances.
Maybe you should try Torribles, who specialise in pyro insurance:

(Although I don't know if they only insure companies now)

Try this company:
www.theinsurancexperts.com speak to Roy Musk
http://www.events-in..._insurance.html
http://www.portwood....entfirework.htm
If you source your fireworks from one company, several now offer very cheap event insurance.
Fireworks International and Sandling Fireworks are a couple and there are others.

We will be sourcing all of our fireworks from Kimbolton this year as we have been very impressed with their quality in the past. Ill give them a call and see if they offer insurance packages...
