Some of the cheaper models are relay based (possibly reed relay) and if subject to shock - ie placed near to a mortar or physically kicked for whatever reason, will prematurely trigger random channels. It has been known for all cues to fire at once on firing the first
EDIT: The original warning was from Ned Gorski on Passfire - he reported this problem with 'cheap Chinese 12 shot units that sit about 2 inches tall, and a couple of the higher quality Chinese 12 and 16 shot systems which sit about 4 inches tall and incorporate a sequencing option'.
