Hi
Could someone tell me how much packaging you're supposed to remove from fireworks before launching? Some have cellaphane (plastic) covers over the top, particularly the Roman Candles and others have just a sort of papery cover over the top. Should I remove this or will the launch blast through it? Don't need to worry about weather protection as it's only for a garden display.
Oh and when it comes to Nov 5th, which supermarkets tend to stock the best selection, if it makes any difference?
Thanks
Dan

Generally speaking, the only packaging you should need to remove would be the plastic safety covers from larger rockets (some larger set-pices and cakes also have fuse-protectors), or tearing a piece of plastic outer to expose the fuse. Any plastic/paper covering will be blown off by the lift, and you needn't worry about removing it unless instructed to do so on the packaging.
Not sure which supermarkets are best for fireworks, but specialist suppliers are always going to stock a larger selection. They also tend to have better prices.

I personally like morrisons, decent prices, usually get a bunch of cheap rockets. Black Mamba rockets (I think they are great) aren't cheap (?24 for 5) but with an offer you can get them cheaper, usually about ?60 for them, a decent cake, a pack of slightly smaller rockets and their best selection box.
I've always been meaning to buy from Lidl also, but I haven't got round to it.

Remove as little packaging as you can. It is enough just to expose the fuse.
OK, interest in fireworks to be resumed in the spring. It usually is.
