Hi my friends please can you help me and some of my friends by signing my partition about saving the old Wells fireworks factory located in Joyce Green.

I realy do not want yet another old historical fireworks site being left to demise or built over like alot of the others. This is part of english heratige and they are becoming rare now and this shouldn't be happening. I hope people can help me out on this one and take some of there time to sign my partition. Thanks in advance.

Just like to say Hello guys. I set this petition up, and I am hoping to get something sorted out. Its ashame to see this go to waste!

I have spoke to the planning officer and theres no plans currently, but a soldier I spoke today who was testing the soil there said the University will submit plans as soon as his soil test is published! So we need to act fast.

Im going back alot at the moment trying to get photos!

Edit:
Link doesnt seem to work; Here it is http://www.petitiono...e.com/FireSave/

God man, did you ever have any English lessons?

Can you edit it? They might take it more seriously if it didn't contain things like in fact they done the first ever display etc

To: Dartford Borough Council, University of Greenwich
Wells Fireworks changed the fireworks industry for ever. They sold fireworks to Walt Disney, fired the first ever display at Disneyland and where the ones who gave Walt Disney the idea. They made some of the most famous fireworks in the world, and fired some of the largest displays, including the Queen?s coronation.

This could not have been achieved without Wells having a dedicated factory, where they could produce their legendary fireworks. This factory was where fireworks history changed for ever.

The Joyce Green factory in Dartford has been been left to rot, vandalized and generally die a death it does not deserve. Nothing has been done to preserve this site of British history.

The purpose of this petition is to help save this historic place, or at least document its fascinating history. We would like to suggest the following uses:
A ) Parts of the site to be used as a museum of pyrotechnics, after being re-furbished.
B ) The site to be used as a nature reserve - as planned, NOT a university halls of Residence.
C ) The site to be re-used. (There were people who asked for this before, but the council has done nothing to look into this.)
Sincerely,
...

I hate to be a damp squib, but I doubt that a petition to save the entire site would be succesful. I would suggest that an attempt to save a portion of the site would be more likely to achieve success. Land is expensive, and although it's a flood plain, some idiot will unodoubtedly wish to place a major development on it soon. Once one building goes up many seem to follow. I would like to think the whole site could be saved but I just don't think it's a realistic option unless you get some industrial museum involved perhaps. They might hold more sway.

For all that though I will sign the petition and good luck.
