Haven't heard of them myself, but at least the address on the site matches the one they registered with (as found by a WHOIS search)- which is more than KNO3.com managed to achieve. It doesn't look professional, but that by no means suggests they aren't for real. Perhaps make a very small cost order with them and see how it goes?

May be of some use if a certain chemical that you simply "Must Have" can't be sourced from elsewhere.

BUT!

Potassium Nitrate: £9.70 + £6.80 P&P = £16.59 for 1 kg!
So my GD 25kg bag at that rate would have cost me £412.50!
(Thanks, but no thanks!)

I was also concerned about a few of the chemicals they have for sale to the public, namely:

Chloral Hydrate: (I thought the name rung a bell and checked it out on the web):
A solution of chloral hydrate in alcohol is called "knockout drops"
Date-rape anyone?

Not to mention also carrying the two main chemicals for HE! And a few more HE ones as well.

So I can't see anything there that I personally need and the few that I do, well, I haven't got that sort of money!

Chris.

In the terms and conditions it does say this:

Sourceachem is Home Office & Police inspected business.

The seller is a licensed dealer in `class two` poisons as required by The Poisons Act 1972 & a qualified member of the AAT see http://www.aat.org.uk/

So that would say that he can't (or won't) sell you some poison, but what about other chemicals?

It's that usual grey area of it's not so much about the chemical, but all about what a given person does with a certain chemical.
I mean the Chloral Hydrate isn't a poison but in the wrong hands...
The same applies to the certain chemicals that they sell that could make HE.
Then you come to us! - Hopefully "WE" know what we are doing and will hopefully use and apply all the safety precautions necessary.

This "hunt the chemical and will they sell it to us" is a funny old game.

Oh for a day when we can take an exam and then openly buy what we want from where we want. That would also create a market where they couldn't charge ridiculous amounts of money for a few grains of sand. /cancel dream mode.

Does seem pricey, do come back and tell us what sort of service you got.

So many chems have nasty uses it's difficult to sort out who's genuine. The claim to have been in business since 2004 suggests they probably will have audited accounts.

well...the site is pretty bodjed looking, and the guy looks mighty sketchy!

but the things that put me most off were there list of "legitimate" clientel - suggesting they dont beleive for a second they really are plumbers.

there are a few chemicals on there that its quite irresponsible to sell without knowing a bit about a person... no need to discuss what (not wanting to give out ideas) but id personally not be using them

n.b. these are my impressions nothing more - im also largley put off by the picture of that bloke

LOL :D sketchy, never heard that one before.

So you'd buy off anyone nice looking enough?! :P

Might just be worth seeing what service people get.

It's a well know fact that only very good looking people have anything to do with pyro.

(That also explains why mine don't work - I'm just not good looking enough!)

If he really was dodgy, he probably wouldn't have posted a picture of himself on the website ;) He could easily have posted a pic of a smartly dressed man in a suit and nobody would know it wasn't him...

I had a running in with this company a fair while ago now. I checked my computer to find 10,000 (no kidding) unread messages in my Inoxia junk folder of the type:

From: Sales@sourceachem.co.uk
Subject: a;sldkfjoie
Body:soifjlejfa a;sldfkjeoij

So I deleted these and rang up the guy at source a chem, after introducing myself I rather stupidly using the 'e phrase' I got sent a mail b*mb from your email address. To which the guy though I got sent an actual mail b*mb.

So anyway, it turns out he had no idea what they were about (he did sound genuinly supprised) and the emails were traced to Lothian, which if anyone has had seriously running inns with KNO3.com would know that was were they were based for a while.

I realise this is slightly off topic, but if anything I can summarise the guy as a bit clueless.
