Hi,

This is my first time buying fuse, I just wanted to make you sure with you (the pro's) if I'm getting a good deal on this fuse, heres the link:

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...tem330042438514

If I can get a better deal somewhere else, please let me know.

Best regards

Well, that's £1.80 per metre, which sucks. The site "www.pyroplanet.co.uk" for instance sells fuse for much less, flying fish for less than 50p per metre (free shipping with that offer), 42p a metre for 1/16th visco (although, taken from an offer where you buy 300m with free shipping) and many other good fuse offers too. The more you buy the better the prices seem to get, and it's certainly where I get my fuse from.

Are you from the UK? If so, about a week.

How do pyroplanet ship fuse from the US to the UK legally? Everyone else seems unable to do so.

I second the recommendation of pyroplanet and it took about 5 working days for my shipment to arrive. They sent mine USPS air mail and on the customs declaration they declared "gift" (without me asking) and as the description they put "laquer wire".

TBH, I think they bend a few US rules in order to ship abroad.

From that ebay auction I'd say that flying fish looks suspiciously like they actually bought it from pyroplanet! It's complete with identical labels to the type mine came with.

Also fuse is not supposed to be sold on ebay, I sold 130ft in 2 days then got a message from ebay saying my listing had been removed because it is classed as a completed pyrotechnic item. Also when checking with royal mail, it is not supposed to be posted (sometimes you just have to break the rules though, unless you want to be paying £££s in haz-mat fees etc)

I would also say the 1/8" or 3/32" fuse sold on pyroplanet burns as well as the type from UK visco, and much cheaper too. Never had any ignition failures with it, the only downside is the price of shipping, so if you are going to make an order with pyroplanet its better to make it a bigger one.
You can never have a long enough fuse...

(Edited)
Well, their service and prices are great, and I'm sure they know what they're doing in regards to the rules. :)

It wouldnt be them paying the tax....its the recipient! If you buy items from outside the EU, then YOU have to pay the Duty on the item value.

Anyway, lets not draw attention to what they are doing! Hes doing us all a favour....without him we would all be paying thru the nose for fuse. It might be a good thing if this thread was deleted :D

It does seem absurd to draw attention.
Soon there'll be a thread "It's so unfair that we pay £xx to courier a bit of fuse"
