arrrr. New BS7114? Are you referring to the EU laws - becuase bs7114 has not changed for years.

In any case - any british standard can be found on www.bsonline.bsi-global.com
Note, on the site - in order to search for the standard just type the number: so 7114 and NOT bs7114

Hope that helps.

Yeah I thought there was only one BS7114 although on even fireworks from 10 years ago it says Bs7114:part2:1988, but Ive never seen any other BS number on fireworks.

New regulations are being written to come in line with EU laws - but the assumption it will not come into effect for a few more years.

Thanks, all. It's strange, I heard somebody said it had changed in domestic (China).

I believe the new regulations you are looking for are "BS EN 14035", and are yet to be implimented (at time of writing).
These will replace or enhance the "BS 7114 .2 /88"

And should be available at the same site as mentioned above

Hi victor,
I have not read the "BS EN 14035" spec yet, and I am not going to spend £56 to get a copy!
Exactly when this standard will be introduced is (as I understand it) still in question.
Although the British fireworks industry has untill march 2008 as a sell on period of old stock, which does not conform to these new regulations.

But one thing I have been told is that the safety distance for catagory 2 (garden fireworks) will increase from 5 metres to 8 metres, and some "NEW" types of fireworks will be introduced, although what these "new" types are ?

Other than that, I don't know!

good luck
