Hi all I am a new be to this site and pyros i have a web site if any one is interested in having a look
http://www.pyroxtreme.co.uk we have been experimenting with some ground fuel lifts can anyone give me some ideas on how to do them better we are using 2 parts petrol to 1 part diesel is there a better mix?

Welcome, quite interesting site you have. There are a few qualified SFX people amongst us, I am sure they will be along to answer your question soon.

Sounds like you are using the 'industry standard' mixture however.

could any guide me towords any good books/dvds on pyrotechnics and where to get them????

Introductary Practical Pyrotechnics - Tom Perigrin (Basically the best/only book directed at beginners)
Fireworks - Principle and Practice - Ron Lancaster
Fireworks: The Art, Science and Technique -Takeo Shimizu
Chemistry of Pyrotechnics: Basic Principles and Theory - John A. Conkling
Pyrotechnics - George Weingart
Pyrotechnics - Alexander Hardt

Try these sites, Barnes & Noble have all but Tom Perigrin's book on there, which could be bought from Skylighter.

Principles and Practise is normally available from Kimbolton Fireworks, although I know they were out of stock about a month ago.

I've also been looking for books as an introdution to pyrotechnics however at the moment I don't think I bring myself to spend upwards of £50 which all the ones i've found seemed to cost. Are there any good books for around 20 or less or should I just be patient and start saving?

Most of them are pretty pricey, but worth it. It's probably best to save up.

I made an order from Barnes & Noble for about £200 last month lol, all on pyro books.

hmm just found a second hand 'Pyrotechnics' by George Weingart at £16.99. Seems a bargain so i've just ordered.
