I recently got some magnesium nitrate as a fertilizer and I want to use it in making stars.
Is it useful in Pyrotechnics or not ? I serched the net and I figure-out that it is useful but I did not find any formula !

What are the formulas ?
Actually, I would like to use it in stars. Is it possible ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Magnesium Nitrate aggressively hygroscopic?

I'm fairly sure it has no use in pyrotechnics, at least I've never heard it mentioned, or seen any formulas call for it.

Yes , Magnesium Nitrate is hygroscopic similar to Sodium Nitrate but it is still used in pyro. to give special effects and also as an oxidizer , and this is what I'm looking for.

I've never seen a formula which calls for it, but I would guess it could be used as a cooler burning nitrate oxidiser, much like sodium nitrate, perhaps you could investigate dyed smoke comps with it. How much do you have/did it cost?

I have 25kg of it and it costs me only $12.
