I am making small shells as some of you may know. So far I have made BP stars with Mg flakes in them. I have used red and green flying fish. I want to buy some crackling colored fuse from pyrocreations but I would like to know what it looks like. I search for crackling fuse but didnt get anything. Maybe it has another name. Anyone have a vid?

To the mods sorry about the title, I forgot to make it more informative till after I posted it.

No can do, they are the only company who wont ship fuse to me. I ordered from cannonfuse. I got some white strobe, blue crackling and purple falling leaves.

Caramanos, i ordered from pyrocreations 2 weeks ago exactly today and still haven't got my shipment. You said it took you 2 weeks to get your fuse correct?

No over 3 weeks actually. At least to me it comes by boat and truck which takes forever. If you suspect something just call him up, hes very nice.

Maybe slightly off topic, but I didn't want to start a new one:

Most people agree that priming flying fish fuse is better to guarantee it lights, but what about the other end?

As the thrust from the primed ignited end propels the fish fuse in one direction, if the other end happens to light (as it often does, try an un-primed flying fish mine if you do not believe me) this will be cancelled out, and it will just drift or fly nowhere.

I found a simple way of preventing unwanted ignition at almost no extra weight, by accident during an experiment last year, I'd been meaning to mention the results for a long time now.

I found that 1/16" visco fuse will not ignite when it has been in contact with cyanoacrylate based adhesives, otherwise known as superglue. The solution is to prime one end of the fuse with BP, and the other dip in cyanocrylate fully, to prevent ignition. This may sound obvious but be extremely careful with this stuff as a small quantity spilt on a roll of fuse will destroy the NC lacquer coating, soak through into the powder core and prevent the fuse from lighting at all.

As different cyanoacrylate based glues may use different solvents you will have to experiment, but I got 12 tubes for £1 and these worked well.
You can never have a long enough fuse...

I have never had that problem with ignition, in fact to me it lights better than visco. Weird I guess. I was playing with the idea of tying a bunch of it near the end and priming one side. So it would burn together until it reached the string as one and then each individual pieces by itself.

I agree, I always use this type of fuse with my small shells (the silver one, coz it burns the hottest), and i dont prime it either, and never had a failed ignition.
