As you know, the visit is only two days away – but there is still time to join in. As it is, we are well below the maximum numbers we can have on the visit, and it would be a shame to see this wasted after all the organization that gone into it. So please, if you are free on Wednesday, drop us a note ASAP and try to make it.

Also, remember we are going to have a “picnic” break on site so bring your own sandwiches / drinks, crisps etc. Weather looking okay! No real sunshine, but at least warmish with no rain.

Lots of flooding 20 miles north or so!
We are okay in fact - whether look about stady for tommorow - the rain moves in about four - right after we finish the outdoor tour! cross fingers!
A few last minute updates for tomorrow:
1. The Mills decided to forward the summer holiday opening date of the site by one week. This means that the site WILL be open tomorrow to the public. From previous years experience, they expect number of visitors to be low – they do no special events during weekdays and it is the first week this year that they will open mid week. This should not affect the quality of the visit. We will still be given two guides who worked on the site. The first worked on R&D on the site and he will take us to the north side using the land train. The second worked on rockets research – for you rocket lovers. The advantage is that more exhibitions will be manned, and even better, the café will be open if you fill peckish.
2. Please remember we will have a Picnic lunch on the site!!! Make sure you bring food and drinks. If you forget – there is always the café.
3. Please prepare questions. The guides assigned to us have been assigned to us because they expect us to be a difficult crowed – E.G. asking question that your average person won’t. From burning rates to charcoal type. Everything goes.
4. We might be sourcing a hall on site, which mean we don’t need to travel to the village hall. Two main presentations are planned. One by Richard regarding work site searches for the UKPS members, the second by me about charcoal cooking the hobbyist way – including a bit of practical fun – if we are permitted

Many thanks to Richard and BigG for organising the event and their interesting talks on charcoal production and the future of the Society.

Mind you, even better then the site were the people that guided us around. The first guide worked in the place from the sixties until it closed. He was suppose to be with us for an hour – but as he realised that we know a “bit more” then the average visitor, stayed with us for the whole day – with some great stories!!!

A nice day out even with the 7 odd hours driving involved. A very interesting day although aimed towards the "less pyrotechnical advanced" public rather than us but still very interesting. Always good to get to know each other personally and face to face too
