I have Li salts here in the Lab, you have to prep everything ready before you dare take the lid off, any more than a few seconds open to the air and it gets Hot, drop a little and it will puddle before your eyes, and that`s a low 32% Humidity.

I have heard of that before but lithiu carbonate and sulphate salts do not do this. I dont agree with you however on saying li salts are useless for pyro. I have made a good fountain red coloured useing homemade li carbonate and it wasnt too bad. nice deep redit`s worth noting also that Many Li salts are Very Hygroscopic, making them almost useless for pyro in any robust way.

I am not sure about the chloride as I have not handled it however the bromide is extremly hygroscopic. During my first year inorganic chem labs we had to identify salt samples and the (small) sample of the bromide i was given turned into a puddle within minutes which made analysis a fair bit harder.
