As I mentioned in the Tubecam topic, I took all my camera gear along to the display yesterday to do their promo video.
We had to do one short sequence of about 10 shells at the end of the 1812. Because yesterday was a nice day, it was still light at about 8 o'clock so we fired the shells in daylight. I set the shutter speed on my camera as high as i possibly could without loosing detail.
Here is one of the pictures:
Let me know what you think.

I think you´re one lucky guy who got a shell on video, leaving the mortar at an incredible velocity!
Nice shot, I´d be interested in the full promo video!

Out of the ten shells that lifted, I caught about 3 of them like that, but the other two were two inchers so just little dots. I think that one is a four incher.

That is an awesome shot. This is not nearly as cool, but a nice pic anyway. These are trails from 1" cylinder shells caught on a digital still shot.

Now that's just showing off : P
Seriously though, I'd love to see some HD pyro footage. I watched the London new year show in HD and it was fantastic. Sparks look so much better in HD!

HD i abit of a pain in the arse really. The main problem is the file sizes are HUGE and even with my powerhouse editing system it takes a long time to render. Also it wont support live streaming to an external AV device, which is essential for proper editing and colour correction.
I shot the display in 16:9 SD which will be enough.
