Something to look out for, air bubbles! From an accident in 1900.
"A trifling explosion was heard in a screw cordite press. No damage was done, and only a small mark was visible on the interior of the cylinder. The most probable cause appears to be the heat generated by compression of an air bubble in the mass."

I should add if anyone finds interesting, relivent entries in the database a link here would be good Here's a very early incident involving chlorate compositions and iron mortar tubes sadly there were 2 deaths.

I have to say this is an excellent post and shows a very responsible attitude, I hope that other members take the time to look at what the list contains, it should make anyone think twice about playing with Potassium Chlorate and Sugar. Well done MFX
