I'm considering buying some 3/4" x 3-1/2" x 3/32" spiral wound tubes for use as rockets. They are the same as these:

Would these e strong enough for bp core burners?

Personally id say they would cato.

Must agree with Wyern here, spiral wound tubes with a 2 mm wall are way too small for any (powerful) coreburner.

In my 12 and 15 mm ID (1/2 and 3/4 inch approx) drivers the wall is between 5 and 6 mm, depending on the configuration.
So my 2 p worth, they are way too small.
Try making your own: It's both easy and challenging at the same time, and you can make all the ID, OD and wall diam. you want!

1/8th wall. Being that there commercially made they should be fine.(IMO) The tubes i roll for the 19mm coreburners i'v been making (or trying) have a wall of 4.5mm (which is close to the ones in the link) and so far hold out pretty well,so if your buying them that size,IMO you should be fine .

I know the shipping to the UK is a killer but I have to believe that someone on your side of the pond has similar quality spiral tubes. Well made spiral, properly sleeved while pressing will work in most applications.

I have some similar tubes from pyrocreations.com - shipping from the US was about USD $20 in a large box along with various hemis and other sundries. The tubes are much stronger than the wall thickness would suggest - the card is very dense and bound with resin glue. These 3/32" commercial tubes compare favourably with 4mm hand wound tubes.

If you're making 3/4" core burners though, why not try to find some 7.5" long tubes... That way you'll be working to the standard 1lb rocket size and so can learn, and share, your comps and tooling methods...

Finding proper sized tubes is very hard, skylighter sell them but with postage being $80 its out of the question. Firefox also used to sell them and shipping wasn't as bad but those tw*ts at the cpsc stopped that.

Ive got some 5/8" 3/32" wall tube here and i cannot crush it between my fingers and it looks strong to me. Depending on the pending shipping quote from phildo ill probaly end up buying from him, that way i can cut to size.

I've bought a bundle of every size, and three bundles of the one pounders. I don't know if Jim ships overseas but I don't see why not. You can't go wrong with NEPT, they are stonger and thinner than anything FireFox or Skylighter sells.

I would ship to you guys if there is any interest. The tubes I have are 12"x3/4" and have a wall of 1/8". They are spiral wound and I would prolly ask for like .50 cents per 12" SECTION. That comes out to 75 3"x3/4" pieces for $9. Shipping can be in a flat rate box or envelope and isnt too bad.
