I appear to have got myself into a bit of a problem. Inoxia's mill recently died, as the motor burned out, so I purchased a working one from eBay. This was all very well, but I had to transfer the pulley wheel over. This was all very well and good until I realised it was badley wedjed on the old motor, trying to help me remove this was my friend, who managed to smash the aluminium wheel with a hammer.

Being entirely the wrong time of year to have to go through this malarkey, I need a new pulley wheel:

Aluminium, or anything that will not rust.
3" OD
1/2" belt width
1/2" bore
Needs a block bit so I can drill and tap to fit a small bolt (grub nut?) to fix it to the rotor.

PLEASE NOTE: the dimensions will need to be checked first, but If anyone thinks they can make this for me quickley please get in touch (Steve.Hall@inoxia.co.uk) asap. Please let me know what sort of price you would like for the work and metal.

-Apologies for spelling, I need to go out now-

I can`t Promise anything, but I MAY have a spare pully/belt-drive wheel from an old agricultural cultivator, I`ll have a look today as I have to go there anyway and find out if this Nov 3`rd venue is a Go.

I`m failry sure I have something like that in the machine room.

edit: it`ll be a V belt if I have one though, I don`t know if that`s any good to you, but it will have the grub-screw allen key type already fitted.

well I`ve had a Look and all I have are:

2" with 3/4" bore
2 3/4" with 3/4" bore
and a 2.5" with a 1/2" bore but it has no grub screw, it`s a free-wheel for the belt clutch.

everything else is chain drive, sorry dude :(

I've tried eBay, there's is nothing suitable.
Exact dimensions are:
Belt = 3/8" (9.3mm)
Outside diameter of pulley = 3"
Outside diameter of the inside of the v groove = 2 3/8" - (if this dimension is even usefull?)
Bore = 1/2"
Width of pulley (excluding bit with the grub-screw) = 13.7mm
Standard single V groove.

If anyone can make it / have one please let me know.

Cheers

Not an ideal soliuition, but there might be something here:

You would have to make a shim for your 12mm motor shaft with tape or hose pipe etc. but it might just work...

Find your local Fenner shop or agent, take the bits in and see what they can offer! They do this sort of thing for their business! Prob take in the new motor too! Check that it is 1/2 inch 12mm 12.5mm or whatever! Wooden rule measure is not good enough when fitting metal bits!

Check also that the incoming motor is the same speed as the old one! 1440 or 2880 rpm is easily correctable at this stage - get the right pulley!

fish4parts.co.uk has everything you'll ever need , they have all kinds of transmission parts. They even have a machining service to taper shafts.
