does anyone know when Asda start selling their fireworks? i think it might be tomorrow. and also, does anyone know what brand they will be this year?

I think it is TNT as TNT are owned by Wal Mart, and so are ASDA.

But in my experience, avoid avoid avoid. TNT are a poor brand, ASDAs service is poor- you often have to find someone to serve you.

In my opinion , a band brand from a bad supermarket. Others of course may take a different view.

if i get anything from there it will be the blast zone selection box.
£19: 15 r/c, 14 fountains, 4rockets.
not too bad- had it before.
wont be getting anything else though.

asda have their fireworks now, but they have changed their selection boxes. if anyone gets one could you please let me know what they are like. i am on a small budget and want to get the best box i can find.

im the kinda person who just buys from supermarkets. dont like a big thing because my gardens not huge. and well, sometimes you might as well just burn your money.

ive looked on yell.com and the only shop near me is in wrexham.

ASDA are basically stocking the same stuff as last year, but re-packaged. Staff have no idea what they are talking about there to be honest. The offers are ok, but, most of them are "Two for £16" etc, who wants to buy two lots of the same firework if you're only buying a few for the garden?

I went into ASDA today, in Preston. Firstly they arn't actually selling fireworks- the "Happy to help" guy said they might be selling them early next week and shrugged. How professional- not! Also some stuff is only on sale until 31st October. Why bother?????

Also, the selection and deals arn't that good. It IS TNT stuff, a poor brand in my opnion. The deals , on all fireworks, are along the lines of " £10 each or buy 2 for £16. "

This isn't as good as it sounds. Its basically 20% off, on the condition that you buy two of the same item. TNTs own shop has vouchers that give you 25% off across the range. Anyone independent selling TNT should be able to offer a discount.

So really, not a good deal. Avoid ASDA- poor fireworks, bad attitude, and generally a bad business.

Of what I've seen on sale in supermarkets, Aldi seem to be the best.

Aldi seem to be the best.

Of course, much like their food they rely on natural and/or well respected German factories to produce their products. I believe they do not import chinese fireworks to their stores.

I'm not sure Aldis rockets are any better than from a fireworks shop, although they are certainly better than Asdas. That said, if you are in Bolton your nearest fireworks shop is something over 100 mile round trip! Let us know how the field tests go!

I heard the Rio rocket pack was pathetic, some of them exploded on site whilst others jumped and landed whilst still burning. This is only what I've read on this board though, it could be different for you.
